 My research program centers on understanding whether, how, and why early care and education (ECE) participation leads to long-term positive developmental outcomes for children from diverse backgrounds. I use a developmental lens to investigate how ECE policy and program components promote equitable experiences for children, and how those experiences are related to development throughout the lifespan. My research also investigates how early learning experiences in one environment, such as the home, are informed by experiences in other environments, such as the ECE setting, and how those dynamic experiences shape children’s development.
